Every time there was a covid outbreak at the curling club, it was almost always centered around the junior program. Kids are little germ grubbing disease vectors, they just are.

Just pointing out that there were costs to the alternative.
And sounder is right about schools. The problem is that they are vectors carrying disease home even without a pandemic. To families with immunocompromised members, that's huge problem, and puts them in really awful position.
