They should have messaaged better. But there's enough countermedia, disinformation and pre-existing bias that saying it wouldn't necessarily have carried the day. (And I think they did run on it more than you are giving them credit for, if not perfectly or not enough.)  Previous Message-play the clip of trump saying his favorite word is tariff. -play the clip of trump saying foreign countries pay tariffs. -say "THIS IS A LIE"- with big letters on the screen. -say "US companies pay tariffs and they pass the cost along to you." -say it results in a trade war and it bankrupted soybean farmers in 2018. -play the clip of trump saying he wants a tariff on all imports. -say it would make your costs at the store go up 20%. -play the clip of trump saying "60%', "100%", "200%", etc... -say "who else will go bankrupt for trump's trade war?" it's not that hard. |
