Remus was walking along the cliffs, taking a much-needed break. It was quite quiet in Sabertooth. Yet Remus’ family was finding it difficult to settle in.
His sister was desperate to find her son, Calvin. It seemed he’d vanished shortly after they came to Sabertooth. There was no trace. Snowflake and Chicka were distraught, understandably, and it seemed that Derevko wasn’t quite finding their new packmates easy to trust. The Hawthorne runaways had been splintered.
Remus came up a bluff, only to see a white lady with horns-Artemis-sprawled lazily at the peak. He toook her in for a moment, then hurriedly backed away. But his paw slipped on a rock the half-blind man hadn’t been able to see, and he went falling. He barely managed to stop himself from rolling down the bluff. He groaned as he registered a pain in his leg. It felt like his bone was smashed, although he knew that wasn’t true. He knew the firsts of real pain, shown to him a year ago, by Beartooth.
“Apologies for disturbing you,” he said awkwardly. Though he was focusing on pulling himself up, he figured the lass was looking right at him. “I’m a bit blinded all the time, and tend to not look where I should.” He would’ve seen her if he’d been doing what Daneliya was always mother-henning him about-turning his head to the side to compensate for his blind eye. He also would’ve seen that rock.
"Pain makes you stronger!"
