“Well, I think that’s wonderful news. You must now be a spirit Elemental, I’m relieved for you that you can move on. I imagine it’s a great weight lifted, knowing that they do not hate you but love you.” She smiled at him, giving him a nod. Her icy eyes rimmed in violets stared deep into his before he began to speak more. “I understand the relief, I guess. Or I wish I could. For a time, my sister, one of her daughters, and myself were lost in a series of portals leading in and out of Starfall. When we finally made it back to Hawthorne, two of my nephews had died, and her other daughter and son were nowhere to be found. Oracle and Kelsea eventually turned up. But since we left she’s been cut off from them, and I think being separated from Oracle, Kelsea, and two sons from the bastard she was with is tearing at her more than she lets on. And then . . . her son, Calvin, disappeared. It’s horrible; Nellie has too many ghosts and fears. I don’t wish to rain sadness upon your amazing news, I’m sorry. That was improper of me.” She rose up to sit beside him, so he wasn’t looking so far down yet she was still much smaller than him. She nuzzled into his neck. "I’ll do what I can to help, I know what it’s like to have too many ghosts. I wouldn’t wish that pain on any mother.” She said softly, pulling her head back to look at him. "I promise."
"Woaaaah! I can see! Kelsea would be-" He stops abruptly with his words and looks to the side somberly, his next words softened. "She wouldn't know...would she? Did she know that I was able to make her a skyborne? Did..." Artemis’s head snapped to look at the apparition in front of her. Her head turned to the side. ""Who are you? Are you lost, a friend of my children?"" His eyes dart back and forth between Artemis and Remus before he speaks up. He cocks his head, confused. "I'm Oracle. I'm sorry, but I don't know who your children are. But why are you with my uncle Remus?" He says, slowly moving towards Remus, trying to get Remus's attention but failing. "Is this where they came to? My family? Sabertooth?" He looks back at Artemis, frowning slightly. "They were kicked out from Hawthorne...Kelsea and I stayed. If we wouldn't have stayed...maybe..." he trails off for a moment, silence filling the air, before he shakes his head and speaks once again "no, no. Kelsea wouldn't be with Maverick right now if it weren't for us staying and a soulmate tie forming between them..."
Her eyes stay on the spirit boy before her, putting the pieces together of who this was by what Remus spoke of his family life. This was Daneliyas missing boy, Remus's nephew. She watched him as he moved to get his uncle's attention, her heart broke. "Yes, this is where your mother, uncle and brothers and sisters came to. He can't see you, I'm afraid Oracle." She frowned at her own words, listening as he spoke and rattled off. Her brow furrowed as he trailed off again. She spoke softly. "Kelsea, your sister. She's still alive? What happened to you . . ." She asked softly, her eyes flicked to Remus, not knowing his reaction to all of this before going back to Oracles spirit. "Kelsea and Maverick . . . What does that mean? Who is Maverick? Is the soulmate tie a good thing or a bad thing?" Upon hearing her say his uncle couldn't see him, he saddened. He listened to Artemis ask her questions, his head whipping him out from his stupor when she started. He sighed before speaking. "I wish I could have said goodbye..." he started, his eyes flicking to Remus for a moment before returning to Artemis's gaze. "Uhm, in the war..." he started, clearly thinking. "I think it was the alpha of Tarben that...uhm...took me away". It was clear the boy still didn't want to accept that he was dead and use those words. "Kelsea was fortunately saved by Maverick, brother to Lucaya, before that alpha could take her away too. They have a soul-tie...and what makes it awkward is that Maverick was previously tied to my mother. I don't really understand why their tie was broken but..." Oracle sighed, looking down for a moment. "Between you and me...Kelsea needs him. And he needs her. My mother will want to intrude...but I really don't think Kelsea needs that. She needs to grow on her own. Without...me..." He sniffled, trying to fight back tears.
Artemis watched the sadness in the boys eyes. Her snowy white form sinking as he spoke. He was a victim in the war. Her icy eyes clouded as he spoke, knowing she would have to face not only Remus, but his family with this news. "Kelsea will be safe, Hawthorne is very protected from what I understand. I will . . . Try to keep your mother at bay. Is there anything you'd like me to say to your family before you go? You're always able to visit, but they won't be able to see or hear you likely without a Spirit Elemental like myself." Oracle sniffled, his next words broken up by sobs. "Just tell them...I miss them...and that I'm...okay..." He turned away, and his spirit body began to walk and eventually disappeared from sight.
Her eyes softened as she watched the ghost of Oracle disappear. She frowned at the news, looking to Remus. "Where is Daneliya? We should see her at once, I just spoke with Oracle." She spoke her last sentence hardly above a whisper as she felt her heart breaking for the family. "He told me to tell you guys that he misses you, and that he’s okay. Tarbens Alpha killed him in the war, I’m so sorry Remus." She said softly, her eyes teared up as she looked to meet his gaze. "He spoke of Kelsea, she’s still alive and in Hawthorne. Someone named Maverick saved her, apparently they share a soulmate tie. They’re mates. But Oracle wishes for Daneliya to not intervene, he said that Daneliya and him used to be mates? But that Kelsea needs Maverick, and that Maverick needs her too." Tears stung her face, every sentence was spoken with a lump in her throat that felt like it was on fire. She truly felt this family's pain.
