“Artemis, no. I promise you that I’ll be with you. I’ll be your friend.” Remus’s words silenced Artemis’s thoughts. Her icy gaze stared at him, almost in disbelief as he went on. “Artemis, I really do like you. I think that you’re an amazing soul. You have not deserved the hardship that has befallen you. I am honored to know you. Artemis, I don’t know that anyone I’ve known would have done for a pair of strangers what you just did for Daneliya and myself. Any man would be delighted to call you his, whether his mate or his friend.” Her eyes began to tear up again, not knowing what to say. “And after all, it can only get better, right, once you’ve hit the bottom?” She gave a nod, tears rolling down her cheek finally.
"Thank you, Remus. I truly am glad to call you my friend." She spoke softly, giving him a soft smile. "You’re too kind." The Goddess gave a soft sigh, her eyes darkening. "Not all may find me as deserving of love as you. There are terrible monsters in this world. It’s good to have a friend." She said, her eyes drifting back to him. "Perhaps maybe one day I’ll find a mate as sweet as you. Any woman would be lucky to call you theirs as well, Remus." She said with another soft smile, she meant what she said. Maybe one day, even they could be mates. She couldn’t hide the fact that he was growing on her, but she was good at hiding her emotions. She didn’t want to get hurt again, but she wondered if he would really hurt her. He seemed to nice.
