Remus’ eyes widened at Artemis’ question. Truthfully, he’d assumed this would never be the path for them. “I-” he started. Remus’ heart was beating with excitement and shock. “Artemis, I have no words; I would truly love to be your mate.” Butterflies of shyness were winging up to his throat. “I’m flattered. Never in years would I have thought I would be so lucky as to be mated to a woman like yourself.” Would she want children? Would he want them? Could their union work?
Remus was overwhelmed with questions and joy. A grin split his lips as he gazed at the white woman. He couldn’t help commenting, “I’m not entirely sure I’m not in a dream right now.” He was serious-this day he would remember forever. In fact, he’d always look back on it with fondness when telling his children about the day he and their mother met, and he would often tell them that that day was the first time he was truly happy.
